Set builder questions

How many chips should each player start with?

For a cash game, plan on about 50 chips per player plus a few rolls for rebuys. For a tournament, plan on 50 to 100 chips per player. The suggested mix for each size already accounts for this.

Can I change the values in the suggested mix?

Yes. Add or remove a roll of any value, including values that start at zero. Values that are sold out can't be added, and the suggested mix skips them.

How does the set arrive?

Each value comes in rolls of 25, and the case ships empty, so you load the rows yourself. Most orders ship within 2 business days.

Can I buy the chips without a case?

Yes. Choose "Chips only" in step 4. You can add a case or trays later.

Custom Poker Chip Sets, Built by the Roll

Every poker chip set from Poker Chip Kings is built from the chips you choose. Pick a chip style, tell the set builder whether you run a cash game or a tournament and how many players you have, and it suggests how many rolls of each value to get and a case that fits. Each roll holds 25 chips of one value or color, so you can change any part of the mix before it goes in your cart, and add rolls later as your game grows.

How Many Chips Should Your Poker Chip Set Have?

Cash Game and Tournament Poker Chip Sets

A cash game set puts most of its chips in the lowest values, like 25¢, 50¢ and $1, for blinds, small bets and making change. A tournament set skips the small change and builds big starting stacks, with values from $25 up to $5,000 for color-ups. For deeper stacks, Ace Casino, Poker Knights, Showdown and Monaco Club go up to $25,000, and Jupiter Club goes up to $100,000.

If you play different games or stakes, a non-denominated set lets you choose the value of each color yourself. Ace King Suited, Crown & Dice, Striped Dice and Super Diamond all work this way.

Picking a Case for Your Set

The set builder only shows cases that fit the set size you pick. Aluminum cases lock with keys and have room for playing cards and dice. The acrylic cases come with clear trays of 100 chips, and the Black Mahogany Wooden Case has a removable top tray for 300 chips with room for 200 more below. Jupiter Club's 43mm chips need the 500 Count Oversized 43mm Case. You can also choose chips only and add a case later. Compare every option on our poker chip cases page, and finish the table with playing cards, a dealer button and dice from our poker accessories.

Poker Chip Sets FAQ

What's the best poker chip set for a home game?

For most home games with 8 to 10 players, a 500-chip set of 13.5- to 14-gram clay composite chips is a great all-around choice, with a solid feel and easy-to-read values. Choose 100% clay Milano or Phoenix chips for a premium feel, or lighter Super Diamond or Striped Dice chips to keep the cost down.

Can I buy a complete poker chip set?

Yes. Build it here from rolls of 25: choose the chip style, the values and a case, and the whole set goes in your cart at once. The builder starts you with a suggested mix for your game and set size, and you can change any of it first.

Can I build a set with oversized 43mm chips?

Yes. Choose Jupiter Club, our 100% clay 43mm chip. Standard cases are made for 39mm chips, so a 43mm set needs the 500 Count Oversized 43mm Case.

Can I add more chips to my set later?

Yes. Every style is sold in rolls of 25, so you can add more of any value or color from that style's page while it's available.

What else do I need for poker night?

Add red poker-size playing cards, a 2-inch dealer button and packs of red 16mm dice in the last step of the builder. The aluminum cases have room for 2 or 3 decks and 5 or 10 dice, depending on size.
