How to Choose a Poker Chip Case

The right poker chip case comes down to three questions:

  • How many chips do you have? Pick a case that holds your whole set, with a little room to grow.
  • What size are your chips? Standard 39mm chips fit all of our cases except the 43mm models. Oversized 43mm chips, like our Jupiter Club, need a 43mm case or tray.
  • How will you use it? Aluminum cases are built for travel, acrylic cases show off your chips, and our wooden case is made for display at home.

Poker Chip Cases by Material

Aluminum Poker Chip Cases

Aluminum poker chip cases are the go-to choice for home games and travel. Each one has a textured aluminum exterior, reinforced corners, fabric-wrapped wood chip rows, a foam-lined lid, and locks with included keys, plus built-in storage for playing cards and dice. Choose from the 300 Count, 500 Count, 600 Count, and 1000 Count cases, or roll a full set to the game in the 1000 Count Rolling Aluminum Poker Chip Case with wheels and a telescoping handle.

Acrylic Poker Chip Cases and Trays

Clear acrylic lets you see every chip color and denomination at a glance. The 600 Count Acrylic Poker Chip Case includes six trays, a lock and key, and a reinforced aluminum base, while the 1000 Count Acrylic Poker Chip Case includes ten trays and a sliding lid. For simple, stackable storage, the 100 Count Clear Acrylic Poker Chip Tray holds 100 chips in five rows of 20.

Wooden Poker Chip Cases

For a case that looks as good on a shelf as it does at the table, the 500 Count Black Mahogany Wooden Poker Chip Case pairs high-gloss black lacquer with gold-tone handles and a lock and key. A removable top tray holds 300 chips, and the lined lower compartment holds 200 more plus cards, dice, and a dealer button.

43mm Poker Chip Cases

Oversized 43mm chips won't fit standard cases, so they need storage made for their size. The 500 Count Oversized 43mm Poker Chip Case holds 500 chips in a black ABS shell with locking clasps and room for cards and dice, and the 100 Count Oversized 43mm Poker Chip Tray with Lid stores 100 chips. Both are sized for our Jupiter Club poker chips.

Poker Chip Case Sizes

  • 100 count trays: Store a single denomination or extra rolls, or stack several trays to build any size set.
  • 300 count cases: A great starter size for cash games with up to about 6 players.
  • 500 count cases: The right size for most home games with 8 to 10 players.
  • 600 count cases: A full 10-handed table plus extra chips for rebuys and making change.
  • 1000 count cases: Built for tournaments, deep starting stacks, color-ups, or running two tables.

Why Choose Our Poker Chip Cases

  • Sizes for every game: Options from a 100-chip tray to a 1,000-chip rolling case.
  • Three materials: Rugged aluminum, clear acrylic, and black lacquered mahogany.
  • Locking protection: Most of our cases lock to keep your chips secure at home or on the road.
  • Room for accessories: Our aluminum, 43mm, and wooden cases hold cards and dice alongside your chips.
  • Cases for 43mm chips: Dedicated storage for oversized chips that won't fit standard cases.
  • Everything in one place: Shop chips, cases, and accessories for your whole poker set together.

Poker Chip Cases FAQ

What size poker chip case do I need?

Match the case to your chip count and your group. A 300-chip case suits cash games with up to about 6 players, a 500- or 600-chip case covers most home games with 8 to 10 players, and a 1,000-chip case is the best fit for tournaments or two tables. If you plan to add chips later, size up.

What is the best material for a poker chip case?

Aluminum is the best all-around choice for durability and travel. Acrylic is ideal if you want to see your chips and keep them sorted in trays. Wood is the most elegant option for display at home. All three protect your chips. The right choice depends on where your case will spend most of its time.

Which poker chip cases lock?

All of our aluminum cases lock with included keys, and so do the 600 Count Acrylic and Black Mahogany cases. The 500 Count Oversized 43mm Case closes with two locking clasps. The 1000 Count Acrylic Case uses a sliding lid and does not lock.

Do poker chip cases come with chips?

No. Our cases are sold empty, so you can fill them with exactly the chips you want. The 600 and 1000 Count Acrylic cases include their chip trays. Our poker chips are sold in rolls of 25, so it's easy to build a set that fits your case.

Do you sell cases for oversized 43mm poker chips?

Yes. Standard poker chip cases are made for 39mm chips, so 43mm chips need their own storage. Choose the 500 Count Oversized 43mm Poker Chip Case for a complete set, or the 100 Count Oversized 43mm Tray with Lid for smaller amounts.

Is a rolling poker chip case worth it?

If you carry a large set often, yes. 1,000 chips at 13.5 to 14 grams each weigh about 30 pounds before you add the case, cards, and dice. Our rolling aluminum case adds wheels and a telescoping handle, so you can roll your set instead of carrying it.

Fill Your Poker Chip Case

Once you've picked a case, browse our poker chips in clay, clay composite, and ceramic, then add playing cards, a dealer button, and dice from our poker accessories.
